Ruby Star Society Make & Takes

Admit it. We all love a simple, fast, cute project, something that makes a nice treat for friends, family and ourselves.

The Ruby Star Society ladies have excelled at creating terrific projects that they share at events like QuiltCon. Makers of all ages are invited to come sew in the booth, learn a new technique and make something fun.

Today, they're sharing three patterns with you. Just in time to make some quick gifts for the holidays.

There is the Ruby Star Scrunchie - shown above. It uses a 4 1/2" x 18" piece of fabric and an 8" piece of elastic.

The Big Dot Potholder uses scraps of fabric, Pellon 975 and regular batting.

Note: For the "template", cut an 8.75" circle from template plastic, paper or cardstock. The seam on the edge is stitched at 3/8" so the potholder finishes at approx. 8".

And because we all love a cute bag that we can use for gifts - this Drawstring Bag is sure to be a big hit. Four pieces of fabric - two for the outside and two for the lining - and a yard of twill tape or ribbon.

Make & Takes. They're a good thing.

Cute, quick gifts. They're a better thing.

Thank you Ruby Star Society for sharing. And Happy Friday!
