Little Snippets by Bonnie & Camille…
Those “little snippets” of fabric left after you put the finishing touches on a new favorite quilt are always hard to part with, aren’t they? There is something so darling about those little quilt-y scraps. This collection was inspired by some hard-to-part-with little snippets, they were quilting memories we didn’t want to let go.
With lots of gorgeous florals, an adorable measuring tape print, , quilt blocks, dots – of course – and a row of little scissors on the selvage these snippets are sure to steal your heart. You’ll want to hang on to even the tiniest piece.
We are also so happy to share that this collection will also include two prints in Moda’s beautiful cotton lawn – eight pieces total. If you haven’t tried cotton lawn as a backing yet, you are missing out. It makes the softest, smoothest backing. Give it a try!
My Mom has three beautiful new quilts for the collection – I have all three on my to-do list!
When she shared this quilt, my Mom wrote, “Reach for the Stars is the last of my new patterns. If you have ever made my patterns, you know that I love making star quilts. This one is 70” x 70” and is made with 16 Fat-Eighths that you can mix up to make the stars scrappy. The charcoal prints are some of my favorite prints in the line. The dot was perfect for the chain blocks and borders.“
For Snippets 2, she wrote, “I love scrappy quilts and of course I had to make a Snippets 2 quilt with this collection. The construction is strip-piecing and uses two Honey Buns so don’t be afraid of all those tiny little squares! It will come together faster than you think – especially since it’s 78” x 78.”
This might be my favorite – it’s called Quilt Day. Those scissors! “I couldn’t resist making a quilt-themed row quilt and with this finishing at 43” x 48”, it’s the perfect size to hang in your sewing space. Some blocks are easier and faster, and some take a little more time, like the snipping scissor, but I’m pretty sure they are my favorite! Or maybe the bobbins, thimbles, buttons or pincushions? I can’t decide as they are all so much fun! Our new measure tape print is perfect for sashing or fussy cutting a strip for the scissors and pincushions. Quilt Day is made with a Layer Cake to give you plenty of different fabrics to make it scrappy.”
We’re excited that Moda will be offering Quilt Day as a kit.
I also have three new quilts for Little Snippets.
This is Heyday – it’s an 80” x 80”, strip pieced quilt that is super fun to make. If you loved my Lucky pattern, you’ll love this one even more! It has such a vintage quilt feel to me, something that could have been made today or a hundred years ago. I can’t wait to wash this one and make it all crinkly and delicious!
You probably knew this one was coming, right? I’m so happy to say that Autumnville is finally here! This quilt completes my “-ville” pattern series and I just couldn’t love it more. It is made with fourteen fat-quarters of Little Snippets and three additional orange fatquarters. You can pull from your stash or you can do what I did and use pieces from Sandy Klop’s – American Jane’s – Merry Go Round collection! (Sandy always has such great oranges – there are also some in Play All Day.) Autumnville is 79” x 79” and it’s backed in our new mini gingham lawn – my favorite!
It’s a fat-quarter quilt that is as happy to make as it is to look at! It’s super-simple piecing and came together so effortlessly. My wonderful quilter Abby quilted it in modern loops and it is bound in the red measuring tape print – it’s a new favorite! Lighthearted is 82” x 82” and makes a perfect large lap quilt, but it could easily be a bed quilt if you added a border. (That pink floral from the backing would be perfect!)
Little Snippets will be in shops later this month.
We hope you love this collection as much as we do!
We can’t wait to show you more!
