Sweetwater is a family run design company located in northeastern Colorado. All of the designing, marketing, shipping, and distribution takes place at the corporate office just southwest of the town of Fort Morgan. Sweetwater is acutally a spin-off of its parent company Farmyard Creations. Farmyard Creations began as a quilt company in 1985, providing quilt patterns and designing fabrics for quilt stores throughout the UnitedStates, Canada and overseas.
In 2001, Sweetwater was born by taking the fabric designs of Farmyard Creations and turning them into paper. In 2008, Sweetwater went back to it’s roots and started designing fabric for Moda. Their first collection with Moda was called “Authentic”. Over fifty collections later, Sweetwater is still going strong, designing and creating fabric and patterns. They have since added a very popular line of personalized quilt labels to their business.
Bunny Hill Designs
Anne Sutton has always loved crafts of any kind, but her love of sewing is what brought her to the quilting world. She fell in love with quilting, when she took a class at her local quilt shop! Once quilting became her passion, her love of appliqué soon became her obsession! Appliqué quilts tell a story and seeing that story come to life is what keeps Anne designing. Her appliqué quilts often determine the look and color of the fabric collections she designs for Moda. Anne and her husband live in Northern California. She loves flea market finds and cottage-style decorating. The center of Bunny Hill is a 400 sq. ft. loft area in her home with natural lighting, a big workspace, and room for all the things she loves. She’s an animal lover and spends the day in her studio, surrounded by the senior dogs she’s adopted.
Holly Taylor
While working as representative for Moda Fabrics, Eileen Taylor immersed herself in the quilting industry and dreamed of designing fabric. To turn those dreams into a reality, she teamed with Lynn Hawley Bloomquist, a talented graphic designer and artist who shared Eileen’s vision. Since Pinecone Lodge debuted in 1998, they have created more than 60 collections for Moda featuring a Northwoods theme.
The niche suits these Minnesota women well as both take inspiration from the natural beauty of their home state. The lacy pattern of leaves made by insects chewing, the colors of a sunset over a beautiful lake and the movement of water bugs dancing in reflections on the water have all found their way into Holly Taylor designs.
Sweetfire Road
Hello! I’m Jackie MacDonald of Sweetfire Road. I’m a designer living on the rocky coast of Maine with roots in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. My husband, Neil, and I have a wonderful little boy named Sam.
The art I create exudes sentimentality and I lovingly design my fabric collections in soft, romantic color palettes to evoke feelings of warmth & nostalgia. I take cues from happy memories, my love of the countryside, gardening, & flea market treasures to create art celebrating everyday magic. And... I have fallen madly in love with quilting! I hope you'll follow along with me on my journey as a new quilter.
It fills my heart with such joy seeing my art come to life in the hands of so many talented quilters. I am deeply grateful and overjoyed to be a part of the Moda family.
Happy Quilting!

Crystal Manning
Crystal grew up in northern Missouri where she discovered passion for art in her younger years. She received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Missouri State University and minored in Art Design. After working as a graphic designer for 10 years, she began using her art and design skills to create surface and textile patterns. In 2015, she ordered her first sewing machine and began teaching herself how to sew with her designs printed on Spoonflower fabric. Despite stepping on pins and befriending the seam ripper, sewing and fabric design quickly became a new passion for her. Crystal currently lives in Kansas City, Missouri where she continues to create new designs for licensing. Nature is her favorite source of inspiration as she loves flowers, birds and cheerful colors with a vintage vibe.
