In this new feature, called “Designer Challenge: A Conversation on Modern and Traditional Quilting,” Joanna will invite a different designer to interpret a traditional quilt block in a modern way. Each issue will bring a new block that Joanna and her guest have chosen, along with their two interpretations of that block -- one traditional and one modern -- as well as a conversation between the designers on the traditional to modern continuum in quilting. Every week on Wednesday, beginning January 3

Our much-loved, annual block-of-the-week program is bigger than ever! The original Blockheads series featured six deisgners; for Blockheads 5, more than 30 designers are contributing block designs! Every Wednesday on the Moda blog and in our official Moda Blockheads Facebook group, we reveal a new block by a different designer. This year, we split the program into two sessions. The first group just wrapped up in November 2023. The second group will kick off on January 3, 2024 and run through July 31, 2024. It's never too late to join the fun! Visit our Blockheads archive page and join the Facebook group and be a Blockhead with us!

Join Lynne of Kansas Troubles Quilts for the All Wound Up Sampler quilt-along! This six-month series makes a generously sized quilt finishing at 82" x 102", with an option for a king-size (96" x 108") version too. You can order a kit from Kansas Troubles Quilters (three shipments of fabric) or follow along and use your own stash. More info will be available on the KT website on January 15, 2024. The All Wound Up Sampler quilt-along features a Facebook Live tutorial with Lynne each month!

Please excuse any random emails and updates that you may have received from our blog today.  With all things technical that upgrade to newer versions, the old sometimes is no longer compatible and causes applications to no longer work. This is the case with our blog template that we have used for so many years.  With Database and Code upgrades that have recently gone into place to enhance the security of information online it was required that we had to make some changes so you could view our blog properly.

Winners of the blog hop announced

Thank you for following along on the moda designers blog hop.  We have all hopped all over the globe visiting each of the designers home towns and learning a little bit more about each of them. They have also shared a small project using moda's newest precut named moda candy. These pieces are 2 1/2" squares of  an entire fabric collection.Several of the designers featured a 12" quilt block design. These blocks are for your pattern library. They can be used with any collection or even made into pillows, cushions or an entire quilt.
