Block Heads 2 – Block 49

Four. More. Blocks. And then Block Heads 2 is in the books.

This little lovely is from Jo Morton’s Jo’s Favorites III. (It’s in shops now.)

Happy Block Heads Wednesday! Week “I’m not sure”. Block 49! I do know that one.

This week’s block is Cups and Saucers, and it finishes at 6″ x 6″. It’s from Jo.

Michele’s Cups and Saucers uses Jo’s New Hope collection.

Block 49 – Cups and Saucers.

On the subject of books… did you see that Jo has a new book coming this Fall? It’s titled Hearth and Home.

Other than the quilt on the cover, we haven’t seen any of the lovely quilts included. But we know they’ll probably have the same feel as these.

This Log Cabin quilt is from Simple Friendships II, Jo’s second book with her pal, Kim Diehl.

Or like this second quilt from Jo’s Favorites III… wait. Aren’t all of Jo’s quilts favorites?

This is the Favorites III book.

Block 49 – Cups and Saucers.

And the Final Quilt Assembly & Instructions.

Remember… if the blogs aren’t up or the links aren’t working, check the Moda Block Heads 2 Archive.  Because if you’re reading this, it’s already been updated and it will have what you’re looking for.

If you’re on Facebook, be sure to check out Moda Fabrics and the Moda Blockheads Group as there are a couple of giveaways – a copy of this Block Heads book and Fat Eighth bundle of Jo’s Hickory Road.

If you want to see what the other Block Heads have made, here’s where to look:

Then be sure to check the Moda Blockheads Facebook Group and the blocks being posted on Instagram – #ModaBlockheads.

So sit back and relax… maybe with a cup of tea and a cookie on the saucer.

Happy Wednesday!

  1. In step 1, shouldn’t the HST units be trimmed to 2 1/2″ square? (the instructions say 1 1/2″).

  2. That first small quilt on the table with the sewing machine and books is just darling! What batting would be best to use in something like this? It’s got such a lovely drape that adds so much character to the top and quilting.
