With so many people facing catastrophic losses due to hurricanes, fires and flooding, Moda Designer Kathy Schmitz and Barb Cherniwchan of Coach House Designs have partnered to create a quilt and pattern to benefit the Red Cross organizations in the United States and Canada.
As they wrote “In times of tragedy, it is important to remember the important things in life like spending time with your family and friends.”
Kathy and Barb have created projects inspired by Kathy’s upcoming collection Oak Grove Lane – shipping in November. The pattern is Best Time Ever by Coach House Designs. Fifty-percent of the net proceeds from the sale of the pattern will be donated to the Red Cross with US sales going to the American Red Cross, and Canadian sales going to the Canadian Red Cross.
The projects include the following:
A 63″ x 78″ lap quilt.
A 39″ x 21″ customizable family wallhanging, an embroidered pillow and designs for eight coasters.
Here are four of the designs – the coasters measure 4-1/2″ in diameter.
There is also a Camper Table Runner measuring 53″ x 17″ in the pattern.
The projects will also be FabSwitch compatible so that you can switch out the fabrics used in the samples with your favorite camping fabric. The projects will be posted on the free FabSwitch app at app.fabswitch.com on November 1. If you haven’t heard of FabSwitch, check out Barb’s demo video.

Have a terrific Monday!
